70.3 Syracuse PB 5hrs 14 mins 52 secs.

A 5.5 hr drive from Barrie and worth doing. Here's the skinny. Swim and beach area (plus transition area) huge in size. Jamieson Lake clean, safe, but run from water to T1 is a long one. [note for family and spectators, this race thought about them. One of the better IM for comfort, food, fruit, & morning coffee.] Make sure to get to the race site about 30 minutes before you think you need to, as traffic is a single lane, into Park, gets congested quickly. Imagine Milton X multiplier of a 100. Swim is a single loop of 1.2 m. There were 20 waves which i was Wave 20. Exactly 1 hour wait after the male pros took off. Bike course is a joy. First 20km, you're climbing, not like IMUtah but you're climbing. The next 60km moderately flat. Last 10km descending and its fun. Great opportunity to let gravity do it's thing and rest the legs before running. The 13.1 mi run course is perfect. I was aiming to do a 1 hr 30 min run, and it is quite achievable. Our day was wet, foggy with some slight rain. At top altitude on the bike, fog was so thick, visibility was about 100 meters. Im my age category M45-49 i finished 28th out of 214. Not to bad. 367th overall out of 2098 participants. Final time Swim 1 hr 40 mins, Bike 2 hrs 46 mins and run 1 hr 41 mins. This race will be grow quickly in popularity. Interestingly enough, not as many Canadians there as i would have thought possibly do to 70.3 Muskoka was a week earlier.
