Three Little things I've Learned in the last Week

I was talking healthy diets with Frank Astri (Chiropractic Clinic) recently about my morning breakfast of peanut butter (extra crunchy) sandwiches and sometimes flavoured yogurt. Frank suggested if i'm looking to cut out a few LBS. to switch to Almond Butter instead of peanut butter , and try cooking my own oatmeal for breakfast. Fewer calories, more firbre and all around just a little bit better than the former.
The third was from my good friend Mark Herbst who i ran into X-Crossing Skating yesterday at Horseshoe. Mark notice my pole straps had slack. Mark informed me that when you extend your poles directly behind you 90 degrees to your body that they should stay there without having to grasp the poles with your hands. In other words the straps are tight and firm against the poles. This alows more power and leverage with each skate. Gues what? It worked.

Classic X-Country Skiing

Great workout Saturday at the lovely trails at Horseshoe Valley. I compiled in my head 45 km but when i checked my garmin, the tally was 7.5 km. Strange how that works.
