Motorhead review Kool Haus Feb. 26th 2011

I enjoy loud Motorhead music. However, when you dial it up beyond the optimal point where reverberation & distortion take over, what is gain? Answer, sweet bugger all. Phil, Mickey and Lemmy were excellent, basically playing the same set adding two new additions to the set from "The World is Yours". Also personal favourites "In the Thousand Names of God" and "We Are Motorhead". Really wish they would drop "Jos Cause You Got the Power" from their set list. Its weak, especially with such an arsenal of songs to choose from. Why not "Desperado" ? I do believe that Toronto is one of Motorhead's more enjoyable North American Cities to play. As Phil said, "You guys are crazy!". After the fifth song, Phil & Lemmy poll their audiences by particiaption in making the loudess crowd noise. It's a competition among all their touring cities. I got the feeling Toronto walked away with the title. Clutch was very good as the opening act, much more enjoyable than Reverend Bob last year but still not as spectacular the year they had Corrosion of Conformity open. Nashville Pussy is always good too. Lastly, I had the great pleasure of meeting in person Documentary producer Sam Dunn. Overall Motorhead ranked a 8 out of 10. Well done.
